Video
Face-to-face consultations and meetings inside your own website or app.
Real-time video lets two or more people see and hear each other through a browser or an app, using the open WebRTC standard that modern browsers include. Businesses use it for remote consultations, identity checks, tutoring, inspections, sales demos and support that needs to see the problem. Done well, it opens with one tap from a link and needs no account or download.

What matters when choosing
- Media servers in or near the regions where your users are, for low delay.
- Good behaviour on weak or changing mobile connections.
- Browser and mobile SDKs that your developers can embed and style in your own product.
- Recording, storage and encryption choices that match your industry's privacy rules.
- Waiting rooms, screen sharing and links that open without an account.
Questions to ask providers
- Where are your media servers, and can we keep calls and recordings in a chosen region?
- How does a call behave when a participant's connection drops to a weak mobile signal?
- Is pricing per participant-minute, and what do recording, storage and composing a recording cost?
Common mistakes
- Adding video where a message or a call would solve the problem faster.
- Testing only on fast office connections, not on the phones and networks your customers use.
- Recording consultations by default without a clear reason, consent and retention policy.
What it is good at
- Showing a problem, a product or a document face to face.
- Consultations that would otherwise need a visit.
- Opening from a link, inside your own brand.
What to watch for
- Quality that depends on the weakest connection in the call.
- Privacy rules for recordings, especially in health and finance.
- Costs that grow with every participant and every minute.
How it is priced
Usually charged per participant-minute, sometimes by video quality, with recording, storage and transcription billed separately; some services sell monthly bundles instead.
