Web chat and booking page

Help and bookings on your own website, where visitors are already deciding.

Web chat is a conversation window on your own site, answered by people, a bot or both; a booking page lets visitors pick a time without a phone call. Businesses use them to answer questions at the moment of decision, book appointments and capture leads. Because the site is yours, you control the look, the data and the experience, and nobody needs to install an app.

What matters when choosing

  • A widget that loads quickly, works on phones and can be styled with your brand.
  • Accessibility for keyboard and screen-reader users, and support for right-to-left languages.
  • A way to continue the conversation by email, WhatsApp or another channel after the visitor leaves.
  • Booking that checks real availability in your calendar and sends confirmations and reminders.
  • Clear notice when visitors are talking to a bot, and an easy path to a person.

Questions to ask providers

  1. What does the widget add to our page load, and does it meet accessibility guidelines?
  2. What happens to a conversation when the visitor closes the tab?
  3. Which calendars and systems does booking connect to, and how are clashes avoided?

Common mistakes

  • Showing a chat button when nobody is available and no bot can help.
  • Asking for name, email and phone before answering a simple question.
  • Hiding the fact that a bot is answering, which many people dislike and some laws now require you to disclose.

What it is good at

  • Answers at the moment a visitor is deciding.
  • Full control of look, data and experience.
  • Bookings without a phone call.

What to watch for

  • Visitors leave and the conversation ends unless you can follow up elsewhere.
  • Page speed and accessibility.
  • Staffing during the hours the button is shown.

How it is priced

Usually a subscription per agent seat, sometimes with limits on conversations or monthly active visitors; bots and AI answers are often priced per conversation or per resolution.
